Our instructors have years of experience and training in Irish dance, Yoga, and Ballet which they draw upon to train our dancers.
Caitlin Preston, TCRG
Regina's only resident certified Irish dance instructor, Caitlin has been Irish dancing for most of her life. Under the mentorship of Linda Possak, TCRG, she participated in countless performances and competed at the championship level for many years, including several Western Canadian Irish Dance Championships. She has taught all levels of Irish Dance, and has obtained her TCRG certification from the World Irish Dance Commission. She currently instructs all competitive students.
Bernadette founded the Prairie Gael School of Irish Dance in 1997. Bernadette began dancing in Regina and has worked with such teachers as Ita Gomes and Michael Toal (A.D.C.R.G.) (Edmonton).
David has been teaching with the School since 2005. He has been a student of Ita Gomes, Bernadette Gavin and Sue Fay Healy (A.D.C.R.G. - Ottawa, ON).
Emily has been dancing for over 25 years. Initially trained in classical ballet; she began dancing with Prairie Gael in 1998 and has been teaching since 2002. A certified yoga instructor, Emily has studied yoga under Sarah Garden and Colin Hall of Regina's Bodhi Tree Yoga, and Andrea Peloso. Emily currently instructs the performance dance program at Prairie Gael.
Growing up in Ontario, Yvonne competed in Irish dancing for 18 years. She danced under the instruction of the Grant School and Shamrock Academy during her career, winning the Eastern Canadian Regional Oireachtas twice, placing top 10 at Nationals and competing at the World Championships seven times. Yvonne enjoys sharing her love and knowledge of dance with her students.
